Is Bitcoin the Currency of Criminals or the Future of Money?

Monday, 2nd July 2018, 18:00 – 23:00

Winckworth Sherwood LLP, Minerva House, 5 Montague Cl, London, SE1 9BB

Event Details

This event is designed to be a fun and irreverent (slightly alcohol fuelled) yet educational evening designed to educate both the AML / Financial Crime and the Bitcoin / Cryptocurrency / Block-chain communities and to get both communities talking and networking to jointly see if we can’t solve some of the problems that these new technologies present and learn how they can enhance and complement existing business models.

We recognise that on the whole; both communities have very deep knowledge of their own ecosystems, but much sketchier knowledge of the other ecosystem.

To that end we have designed the evening to initially provide an overview of each community’s core values and information for the professionals of the other community. This will be done with two short small group sessions for each community stream.

We will then bring everyone together for a stand up drink in hand ROAST with a small panel of Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to help discuss the headline topic “Is Bitcoin the Currency of Criminals or the Future of Money?”

We are expecting a very lively debate with a lot of strongly held and possibly divergent opinions being openly debated to give everyone some real knowledge and perspective and also a lot of fun!

The full detailed evening schedule is shown below
