Stephen Webster is the Head of Corporate Transparency and Register Reform at the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. His current focus is on measures to improve the accuracy of the UK corporate transparency regime. Stephen previously worked on the FATF review of the UK’s anti-money laundering regime and on beneficial ownership requirements in EU legislation (Fourth and Fifth Money Laundering Directives). And before that on the development and introduction of the UK’s company beneficial ownership register known as the register of People with Significant Control.
